JOURNALIST HECKLED AT MEKHLIGANJ BY BSF HEAD CONSTABLE

Webdesk, TNI Coochbehar, 18^th October, 2016: In protest against the alleged misbehavior of a Head Constable of BSF Mr. Matiur Rehman with the secretary of the secretary Mr. Santosh Sharma of Mekhliganj Sub-divisional Journalist Club yesterday the club officials and the members submitted a deputation to the SDO of Mekhliganj Mr. Apratim Ghosh. It is also alleged that the Head Constable have physically assaulted Mr. Sharma on asking to take photos at Changrabandha Check Post. The members of the Journalist club also alleged that this is not the first time the head constable have resorted to such acts but it’s a regular practice by the person concerned. Further, the constable is also alleged to have a connection with the Bangladeshi trespassers and the animal smugglers. Various press clubs and journalist clubs also have protested in the incident. Among which Siliguri Journalist Club, Coochbehar Journalist Club have vocally protested in the incident. The MP of Jalpaiguri constituency Mr. Bijoy Ch Barman has also expressed concern about the incident and has assured to take the matter to the attention of the CM as well as the Central Government.
